Connection is a vital piece of what enables us to flourish in life. We need connection to nature, the people around us, and other living creatures. But while the simple act of spending time with others and in nature is a great way to connect, there is another powerful tool we should all be making use of, the connection to our food.
Food is a powerful connection to nature; it provides us the ability to promote and support our body the way god/mother nature intended. As with food, a practical approach to a spirituality utilizing meditation, affirmation prayer, and life-long evolving. These practices help us promote better health on a mental, physical, and spiritual level…basically, to our cellular core. Food should be enjoyed while sustaining us, benefiting many levels of our body, while also detoxing. We should incorporate many plant-based practices, adding Phyto-nutrients to daily intake.
Many people, especially vegetarians, eat tempeh as a substitute for meat. Tempeh is fermented soybeans and a complete protein, with all of the amino acids. Also, a great source of vitamin B12, tempeh can be cooked or crumbled over salads. But not all soy products are the same and healthy. Raw and cooked onions, garlic, dandelion green, raw Jerusalem artichoke, raw chicory root, and leek, are full of powerful nutrients for your health.
At the end of the day, and especially as we begin 2021, it is worthwhile to take a step back and ask how we want to enter the next phase of our lives. For many of us, our physical separation from healthy and sustainable food is and has been hindering so many people globally, causing mortality rates to elevate hindering the life what nature intended for us.
